First steps in Ghana
It has now been more than a month since I arrived in Tamale, Ghana. The first two weeks were more about acclimatation with the living conditions and the culture, especially food. Even now, the adaptation process is still ongoing, but I am gradually starting to find my feet in daily life.

First meeting with GDCA |
The challenge was more on the work part as it started very slowly, sometimes leaving me with the feeling that my days were empty. However, these past weeks have been much busier. I’ve had the opportunity to join field visits and attend workshops, even if not directly connected to my mission’s focus.

I'm also currently involved in a project with CLIP NGO, one of GDCA’s close partners. We are looking for a way to enhance the outpouts of an irregation project that several communities have previously benefited from. The idea is to empower these communities to sell the vegetables they grow — thanks to the irrigation systems — directly to private buyers such as restaurants or grocery stores. This would allow them to sell their produce regularly and at a fair price.
One this matter, I have been made responsible to contact potential byers to convey a survey on their current practices and expactations. Based on the results, the next step will be to establish a guaranteed price between the two parties and, hopefully, start implementing the project.
It's a really interesting initiative and I hope it's just the beginning of an enriching volunteering experience.
